Daniel Marcu
Senior Research Fellow, University of East Anglia
Dr Daniel Marcu is a Senior Research Fellow at the University of East Anglia and a Senior Scientist in Andrology at the University of Western Cape. He has an MSc in Prenatal Genetics and Fetal Medicine from University College London and a PhD in Reproductive Genetics from the University of East Anglia. Daniel is an Executive Board Member and Treasurer at the Network for Young Researchers in Andrology and a member of the European Academy of Andrology and the Society for Reproduction and Fertility. His research in sperm biology led to the formation of a university spin-out company Virilitas Labs, focused on translating cutting-edge research into applications for clinical and at-home use. He has received several awards including a Public Engagement Award, an Innovation and Impact Award and a Beverly Tucker Award for his scientific contribution to sperm biology, genetics, and advocacy around male fertility.
